In the Young Adult Transition Program we offer a unique living experience for young adults ranging in age from eighteen to twenty-four. Located near the beautiful resort town of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, we are close to local amenities and a variety of employment, volunteer and educational opportunities. Our staff members offer on-going supportive services and mentoring to encourage independent living skills, mood management skills, achieve a balance between physical health and fitness, maintain an organized environment, establish healthy relationship patterns, and build self-esteem and values. Typically our residents have begun to develop the usual coping skills necessary for age-appropriate life choices, but remain in need of clinical support and mentoring services.
To address this need, we offer out-patient therapy services and medication management to residents that have demonstrated the capacity to move into a more independent living structure. The therapeutic services are provided by the team of professionals that were available to them while they resided in the Young Adult Intensive Program. The Young Adult Transitional Program is located in gender specific homes in downtown Coeur d’Alene, close to local job and volunteering opportunities as well as college accessibility. The program provides a supervised path to independent living. Staff from Innercept offer mentoring services in addition to the therapeutic services provided. The therapeutic alliance established earlier in the resident’s progression through the program is an essential component to meeting their individual needs as they move into independent living. We also encourage parents or guardians to be active participants in the process. We emphasize enrollment in college courses or maintaining employment and/or volunteering as essential to the resident’s success.
