Lynn Abercrombie Innercept Academy Principal Bio: Lynn Abercrombie received her Bachelor of Arts from California State University Dominguez Hills in 1982, with a double major in Spanish and French. Following this, Lynn taught foreign language at Westminster Academy in Los Angeles as well as working as a Spanish translator for a HMO named Maxicare. Upon moving to Hayden Idaho in 1986, Lynn taught for the Coeur d’Alene School District as both a substitute and foreign language summer school teacher while raising her family. After completing her Masters Degree in Special Education at the University of Idaho, Lynn took a full time teaching position at Children’s Village Residential Treatment Center. Here Lynn worked with a clinical team to provide a therapeutically based education for emotionally and/or developmentally challenged students ranging from grades K -12. Later, she joined Kootenai Medical Center where she taught for several years in the Youth Acute Classroom of their behavioral health unit, working under a medical model in a clinical setting. As the principal of Innercept Academy, Lynn brings a wealth of teaching experience, specializing in working with students who have behavioral issues. She brings her commitment to the belief that every student has the potential to achieve success and that it is the job of the educational team to facilitate a positive learning experience. Responsibilities: The principal of Innercept Academy reviews and/or maintains all transcripts, educational testing and curriculum for the accredited school. Innercept Academy is accredited through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools for grades 7 through 12. Lynn works with the education team to ensure accreditation standards and maintains the Innercept library. She updates parents and Education Consultants on student progress and teaches in the classroom as well. |
