Upon admission into Innercept, the student is given an education assessment that includes a review of past educational experiences, transcripts, input from parents, teachers and clinicians, as well as a review of clinical need, to ensure that the educational plan has the best chance for success. Academic testing is available by experienced licensed, certified school psychologists.
Academic collaboration at Innercept Academy occurs between the principal, teachers, staff and clinical team daily. Our team includes education specialists, teachers, therapists, certified school psychologists, a board certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and other professionals. Our principal is a special education teacher with many years of experience. Teachers at the school are dedicated to providing creative solutions to roadblocks students face due to learning challenges, attention deficits and clinical issues. Academic goals are paced to match the individual needs of each student and are interwoven with the clinical aspects of the program. Highly individualized education plans are implemented by a dedicated staff and designed to create confidence in the student pertaining to their learning ability. Innercept Academy has received full accreditation through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. Our curriculum is tailor-made to give credit for non-traditional activities, providing an opportunity to apply knowledge to real life situations.
Staffing with the team occurs every other week for each student and a report of current status, goals and feedback from the staff, as well as the student, are given in written form to parents. This helps the therapist and family to discuss goals with the student to measure progress in both the academic and clinical realms. It is the goal of the Innercept program to provide services to individuals in a holistic manner, helping each student to reach their highest potential.
Innercept program values are embraced by the school, creating an educational environment that is conducive to focused learning. The values are as follows:
